Delegation of CIGIU visited the University of Manchester, UK

On June 28, the delegation of CIGIU visited the University of Manchester in the United Kingdom. Under the arrangement of Vladimir Falko, dean of the Graphene Research Institute and Ivan Buckley, head of Business Development of Graphene, the delegation visited the the Graphene Engineering Innovation Center (hereinafter referred to as GEIC), Graphene Enabled Systems (hereinafter referred to as GES), and National Graphene Institute (hereinafter referred to as NGI) consecutively.

In the morning, James Baker, CEO of GEIC, introduced the development of the center, its graphene projects and business modes. After the introduction, he arranged the delegation’s visit to see their graphene products and prototype exhibitions, during the visit he expressed his welcome for the arrival of the CIGIU, and said he is willing to work with the Union on the application of the graphene industry.

During the talks, Mr. Ruan Ruxiang, Permanent Vice Chairman of the CIGIU, expressed his appreciation for the development of the center. He said that the Union is willing to cooperate with the center in various aspects, such as accelerating the commercialization of graphene technology and product application, and promoting innovation in the industry. The two sides also reached a preliminary consensus on the direction of cooperation, and will further implement the details after the meeting, to reach a win-win achievement.

At noon, Andrew Wilkinson, CEO of GES, personally received the delegation and discussed with the delegation about the project of graphene industrialization, patent operation, project landing, etc., and he also showed that the for the next step he is going to carry out specific project cooperation with the CIGIU.

In the afternoon, the delegation visited NGI's graphene product exhibition hall and its ultra-clean laboratory. Dr. Zheling Li introduced the research situation and said that the institute has cooperated with many Chinese technology companies already.

CIGIU will deepen cooperation with the University of Manchester, in the field of graphene application to jointly promote a high-quality development of graphene industry.
