Qingbaijiang District is the first industrial zone in the southwest of China during the “First Five-Year Plan” period as not only an important metallurgical, building materials and machinery manufacturing base in Sichuan but also the largest railway logistics hub in western China. Being the only railway freight-type national opening port in Sichuan Province, it is one of the four commodity market concentrated development zones in Chengdu and is among the top ten markets with limitless investment potential in China.
As a strategic city of the Silk Road Economic Belt, Chengdu Qingbaijiang has witnessed continuous improvements as a transportation hub in recent years and the accelerated construction of “the core area of logistics and trade”. The containers “Five Set” trains from Chengdu Qingbaijiang to Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen are in normal operation, and the trains of Chengdu-Europe Train and Central Asia Train have been operated. With the pivotal role of Chengdu-Europe Train and Central Asian Train, Qingbaijiang has seamlessly connected Chengdu and the European countries with the aim to accelerate economic and trade exchanges between the central part & west of China and European countries, promote the steady growth of foreign trade in Sichuan, and provide a strong guarantee for building Chengdu into a regional international trade center and service industry-centered city.
Through this investigation, CIGIU and the managing committee of Qingbaijiang European Industrial City would strengthen the cooperation, and strive to promote the rapid development of advanced materials industry in Chengdu with the location advantages of Qingbaijiang and the international resources of CIGIU.
