To Jointly Established the National Graphene Manufacturing Innovation Center

On Nov 15^th, Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Graphene Industry International Summit & the Founding Conference of the Expert Committee of Beijing Graphene Industry Innovation Center was held in Fangshan District, Beijing. The meeting was supported by the National Expert Advisory Committee for New Materials Industry Development. Leaders from Department of Raw Materials, Ministry of Industry, Beijing Municipal Commission of Economy and Information, Zhongguancun Management Commission, Beijing Fangshan District, as well as more than 700 major graphene-applied enterprises and experts from all the country attended this meeting.

Zhang Jing ’an, Chairman of CIGIU, former Secretary General, Party Member of Ministry of Science and Technology, Proprietor of the Science and Technology Daily, made speeches at the summit

Zhang Jing’an, Chairman of CIGIU, said in his speech that CIGIU was an important part of Beijing Graphene Industry Innovation Center. According to the requirements of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, CIGIU is now organizing core member organizations, including national key institutes, applied companies, facilitating agencies, financial institutions and industrial parks. They would jointly establish a national-level graphene manufacturing center. Nearly 100 members of CIGIU applied to join in so far. CIGIU hoped to assist all types of entities to work together to create a bright future for the graphene industry.

CIGIU signed strategic cooperation agreement with Beijing Petrochemical New Materials High-tech industry Base SINOPEC Beijing Yanshan Company, Beijing Graphene Technology Research Institute, and People’s Government of Jixi City.

As an important part of Beijing Graphene Industry Innovation Center’s ‘one body, two wings’ pattern, CIGIU had played an important role in the declaration and construction of the National Graphene Industry Innovation Center. In the past six months, CIGIU Secretariat had successively visited and investigated the whole country, negotiated and exchanged ideas with industry-leading agencies for several times, actively assisted the selection of domestic leading graphene application companies and scientific research institutions with leading position and development potential to join in the construction of national industrial innovation center.

The Conference of National Graphene Industry Innovation Center Co-Construction Forum

In the interaction forum, as the host of forum and the Secretary General of CIGIU, William Liu and the other parties discussed on the issues including the co-construction and sharing of the national-level graphene manufacturing innovation center and the development of graphene industrialization. He said that CIGIU would further give full play to its own advantages to make the international platform of graphene industry better and stronger, and contribute to the healthy, standardized and orderly development of the graphene industry in China.

CIGIU was formally established in Beijing on September 18th, 2016. Proceeding from China and embracing the world, CIGIU is characterized by its local advantages and adheres to the connection of domestic and foreign, offline and online, technological innovation and cultural leadership, industrial development and resource protection, economic benefits and social benefits, striving to build an open three-dimensional "graphene +" industrial network as well as to make the graphene industrial chain longer, wider and deeper from various links including resource, industry technology, finance and culture and so on. Different from other social organizations, CIGIU has a strong team of experts to provide professional support. CIGIU Expert Advisory Committee includes academicians of Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chinese Academy of Engineering, leading scientists in graphene field, important influential economists and entrepreneurs at home and abroad and social activists, and so on. CIGIU focuses on making technology industrialized to provide better technical solutions for enterprises.

At present, CIGIU has nearly 200 member units at home and abroad.
