From June 25 to 28, the 2nd China-Europe Graphene Industry Development & Cooperation Summit, co-sponsored by CIGIU, Association for Advanced Carbon Industry Promotion and the 9th edition of Graphene2019 Organizing Committee, was held in Rome, Italy.  During the conference, the forum was held to promote technical exchanges between Chinese leading graphene companies with European scientific research institutions, explore the international market, and make Chinese companies integrated into the international graphene industry chain, to ensure a healthy development of China's graphene industry.

Liu Zhongfan, Member of the 13th National Committee of the CPPCC, Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Jiu San Society, Vice Chairman of the Beijing CPPCC, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Professor of Peking University led a high-level delegation of China's graphene industry to attend the forum. Sun Chengyong, counsellor on Science and Technology of the Chinese Embassy in Italy, Dr.Antonio Correia, Chairman of the 9th edition of the largest European Conference & Exhibition in Graphene and 2D Materials, President of Phantoms Foundation, Professor Francesco Bonaccorso, member of the Development Committee of European Graphene Flagship, Instituto Italiano di Tecnologia (IIT) & Bedimensional, and Aldo di Carlo, professor of the University Tor Vergata., Kari Hjelt, Graphene Flagship Head of Innovation, and Ruan Ruxiang, Permanent Vice Chairman of the CIGIU, attended the forum and delivered speeches. Beijing Graphene Institute, Sixth Element, Lan Bing Technology, Ningbo Yuanshi, ICN2( Spain), Sixonia Tech GembH( Germany), Norway Abalonyx and other outstanding domestic and foreign graphene companies have made special reports or project introductions. Reporters of Xinhua News Agency, People's Daily, and China Radio International, went to the forum to report.

Academician Liu Zhongfan introduced the history and achievements of China's graphene industry and that of Beijing Graphene Institute (BGI), and he hoped to strengthen interaction with European counterparts and jointly contribute to the progress of graphene technology.

Permanent Chairman Ruan Ruxiang introduced the work of the CIGIU and Association for Advanced Carbon Industry Promotion, and said the Union would continue to give full play to the advantages of the platform, promote the Sino-European scientific and technological exchange and industrialization, to help Chinese enterprises to enter the International market. During the meeting, he also gave an invitation to ask the guests to attend the 2019 Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Graphene Conference held in Fangshan District, Beijing, in late October this year. He expressed his welcome to the European scientific research that they could realize the commercial value in China's vast consumer market and jointly create a better future for mankind with their Chinese counterparts.

Dr. Antonio Correia, Chairman of the 9th edition of Graphene2019, said that China has a broad market and investment opportunities and he hopes to establish a long-term cooperation with the Association. He also welcomes the Chinese delegation to participate in the 9th edition of Graphene2019.

Prof.Francesco Bonaccorso, member of the Development Committee of European Graphene Flagship, Instituto Italiano di Tecnologia (IIT) & Bedimensional, said that the development of graphene industry requires international cooperation and complementary advantages to promote sustainable development.

Prof. Aldo di Carlo of the University Tor Vergata presented the latest directions and research results of graphene research. He is willing to help members of the Association to conduct more in-depth exchanges and welcomes cooperation with the Italian scientific community and business community to promote the industrialization of graphene technology.

After the speech, Dr. Antonio Correia, and Ruan Ruxiang, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Union, co-chairmen of the forum, jointly issued certificates for the newly elected members of the Scientific Advisory Committee of the forum. The Committee will play a role as a bridge between China and Europe, and will face the major demand for advanced new materials for the innovation and development of emerging industries such as high-end equipment manufacturing, new energy and next-generation information technology. Through this bridge, people can study the major problems in the development of the global graphene industry and establish a sharing mechanism, to make breakthroughs in key common technologies for industrial development.

At the forum, Association for Advanced Carbon Industry Promotion and the Phantom Foundation( Spanish )signed a Memorandum of Cooperation; Lan Bing Technology, Sixth Element and Ningbo Yuanshi signed the "Cooperation Letter of Intent" on the graphene industrialization project.

In the special report session of the forum, Cinzia Spinat, head of Marketing Development, ICN2( Spain), Lin Aling, General manager of Ningbo Yuanshi New Materials, Bernhard Münzing, European sales Director of Sixth Element, Samaneh Etemadi, Abalonyx/ Graphene Batteries, Norway, and Martin Lohe CEO of Sixonia Tech GmbH (Germany), and others made special reports.

CIGIU has always been committed to building an international platform for the development of graphene industry, promoting the exchange of scientific and technological achievements, accelerating the transformation of graphene technology and the construction of standard systems in the graphene field. The successful holding of this forum will further promote the exchange of graphene technology and industrialization in China and Europe and ensure the healthy development of China's graphene industry.
