On June 6, 2023, the 5th Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Graphene Conference with the theme of "Grasping the New Hope of Graphene and Leading the Carbon Future" was successfully held in Yanshan, Fangshan District, Beijing. More than 500 guests from government departments, scientific research institutes in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei, graphene industry innovation centers of various provinces and cities, and graphene industrial chains in various application fields gathered together to share cutting-edge new material innovations, exchange practical experience in commercialization of application industry, and discuss the path of development of the new material industry.
Nobel Prize laureate Professor Konstantin Novoselov, Academician Jiang Shicheng, Academician Liu Yunqi and Academician Wang Shouguo were invited to attend the conference and delivered keynote speeches on cutting-edge achievements to discuss the wide application and future development trends of graphene in new energy, environmental protection, electronics and other fields.

At the conference, the launching ceremony of the Steering Committee of the International Carbon Materials Union (ICMU) & the International Cooperation and Exchange Base of Beijing Graphene Industry Innovation Center was held. Taking this opportunity, the graphene and carbon material industry in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region will be effectively promoted, and then more extensive domestic and international exchanges and cooperation will be carried out to help the coordinated leapfrog development of the industry.
Vladimir Falko, Director of the National Graphene Institute (NGI), Antonio Correia, President of the Phantoms Foundation (Spain), Thoroh de Souza, Chair of the Graphene and Nanomaterials Research Center - Brazil, Matt Walker, former official of the UK Department for International Trade (DIT), and Denis Koltsov, Chair of the ISO Technical Committee 299 (Nanotechnologies), extended their warm congratulations on the grand opening of the 5th Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Graphene Conference by online video.
In the signing session, more than 30 enterprises and institutions attended a series of signing events. Among them, Yanshan Cloud Industrial Park in Fangshan District, Beijing has attracted much more attention, through the integration of policies and resources, and the continuous expansion of high-quality projects, and then formed a "1+3" industrial agglomeration development, mainly involving new reviews materials, graphene, hydrogen energy and other key industrial fields. Up to now, there are 145 enterprises, and 22 newly registered enterprises in Yanshan Cloud Industrial Park in Fangshan District, Beijing which are expected to achieve an output value of CNY 33 billion. On the other hand, the Beijing Advanced Carbon Materials Industrial Equity Fund with a total scale of CNY 5 billion was established in Fangshan District, Beijing, which will bring another strong support for the coordinated development of the graphene industry in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.
In the new product launch session, Beijing Institute of Graphene Technology, Huamo (Beijng) New Materials Co., Ltd., Beijing LB Technology Development Co., Ltd., Aika Innovative Technology Co., Ltd., Beijing Research Institute of Mechanical and Electrical Technology Co., Ltd. and others respectively released innovative graphene new material products, including post-Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics graphene application products with scientific and technological transformation and upgrading, "Huamo" graphene modified lubricating grease that can achieve import substitution, graphene pressure-sensitive intelligent running shoes, carbon fiber graphene-aluminum composite energy-saving conductors with international PCT patent protection, graphene sterling sealing products, etc. A new batch of new graphene material innovations will enter the market, ignite the new hope of graphene, and expand the market of the graphene industry.
In the exhibition session, the fruitful achievements of graphene and other cutting-edge new material industries were exhibited during the conference, and 28 scientific research institutions from Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei and other places displayed 144 exhibits such as graphene biosensors, carbon fiber graphene-aluminum composite energy-saving conductors, graphene antibacterial materials, graphene degradable materials, graphene super-lubrication materials, graphene heating materials, etc.
In the application forum session, the conference also held a graphene new material product application forum, where guests discussed the technology and application of graphene in the field of high-end synthetic materials, the industrialization application of graphene thermal management technology, and the application, prospect and breakthrough of graphene in the field of high-efficiency energy storage. The guests put forward valuable opinions on how to promote the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, technological innovation and project implementation for the high-quality development of the graphene industry.
In recent years, the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Graphene Conference has become an international and professional exchange platform with global influence. In the next step, Fangshan District will strive to build a coordinated innovation platform for industries in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, deepen international cooperation, and contribute to the coordinated development of graphene and carbon material industries in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.
