CIGIU 2018 (China) Wuxi Graphene Innovation & Development Summit was Successfully Held

On September 29^th, 2018 (China) Wuxi Graphene Innovation and Development Conference was successfully held in Wuxi Graphene Industrial Development Demonstration Zone. The summit was sponsored by the People’s Government of Huishan District, Wuxi, with the Management Committee of Huishan Economic Development Zone, Wuxi, Jiangsu as organizer and several member institutions of CIGIU as co-sponsors. William Liu, the Secretary General of CIGIU, attended the summit and gave a speech.

     Centering round the theme of “Realizing industrial aggregation through sci-tech innovation with the support of National Graphene Products Quality Supervision and Inspection Center”,  the summit gathered about nearly 350 participants including well-known experts and pioneers in graphene industry both home and abroad, heads of authoritative  institutions, representatives of major member institutions of CIGIU in Wuxi and domestic outstanding member enterprises and industrial financial institutions.

Prof. Jonathan Mark Cooper, Fellow of Royal Academy of Engineering and Vice Principal of University of Glasgow as well as Konstantin Novoselov, Nobel laureate and Professor at The University of Manchester, made excellent reports.

At the summit, the National Graphene Product Quality Supervision and Inspection Center as well as the Graphene Engineering Technology Service Center were officially unveiled to further enhance the core competitiveness of Wuxi Graphene Industry Development Demonstration Zone.

The successful convening of the summit gives a fresh impetus to Wuxi Graphene Industry Demonstration Zone, which will unite the CIGIU member institutions together to promote the construction of national-level graphene manufacturing innovation center-Wuxi industrial base. As a result, the joint force gained from the government-industry-university-research model will bring about leap-frogging development in China’s graphene industry.
