On Apr 12th, 2018, "Graphene + New Energy Storage Technology + New Energy Vehicles" Seminar, which was supported by CIGIU, was successfully held in Nanjing.

Ruan Ruxiang, Permanent Vice Chairman of CIGIU, attended the meeting. In his speech, he said that with the gradual depletion of fossil energy and the requirements of environmental protection, the usage of new energy vehicles has become an inevitable development trend in the automotive industry in the future. However, the current shortcomings of automotive power batteries have hindered the promotion and popularization of electric vehicles. Graphene material has excellent electrochemical energy storage characteristics, including ultra-fast charging and discharging, cyclic charging, and so on. It has broad application prospects and great potential in the fields of automobile. People in the automotive industry should work hard to achieve cross-border cooperation and promote the use of graphene in this industry.

In order to actively promote the combination of graphene and downstream applications, accelerate the industrialization of the nearly mature graphene technology, as well as develop and arrange the graphene industry at a higher level, CIGIU would hold a series of forums and technology and industry docking activities, focusing on the problems, bottlenecks and solutions of graphene in key application areas. CIGIU would give full play to the advantages of the platform, linking government, capital, enterprises, and research institutes together to activate the entire graphene industry chain, promoting the transformation of new and old production capacity through various forms of activities. Meanwhile, it will also strengthen cooperation, exchanges and collaborative innovation, cracking the problem of the disconnection of graphene upstream and downstream applications. In this case, it will finally be able to promote the development of domestic graphene industry.
